Marc Romero studied at the ArtCenter college of design in PasadenaCalifornia, and worked for a number of prominent Southern California Design firms where he received his practical training in Environmental Graphic Design. His early mentor, john follis considered by many a pioneer in the industry provided the foundation for a wide range of corporate, institutional, and retail projects. After his tenure at Follis, Romero took a senior design position at the victor Group in Culver City, California. He worked hand in hand with its’ two principals towards the successful completion of numerous retail projects like fashion Island , Newport Beach, California.
In 1989 Romero was selected by Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) to serve as Principal overseas for Euro Disneyland, Paris, France. Romeros combined experience with design and manufacturing allowed him to direct and manage the design and fabrication of the Parks 7,500 signd and graphics. Over the course of two years, Romero traveled extensively throughout Western Europe to work side by side with many cottage industries and national sign manufacturing companies.
Upon his return to the United States in 1992, Romero took a position with Landmark Entertainment Group where he established an Environmental Graphic Design division with a core focus in entertainment and retail design worldwide. At Landmark Entertainment Group Romeros team was recognized for a number of design achievements and received several design awards, including The World Expo in TaejonKorea.
In 1996 Marc Romero formed Studio marc Design. Two years later he partnered with Kjersti Thorsen to from Romero Thorsen Design. The design studio is located in Santa Monica, California.
Romero experience spans a diverse range of projects both national and International. His work has been published and honored widely. He is a member of the Society for Environmental Design (SEGD) and the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). He is currently writing on his first book.
